There is a post on the vodafone nz forums saying tethering is working fine using www.vodafone.net.nz

I wish someone from vodafone would post and clear all this up.....

Hi everyone:

I'm on VF prepay and had my iphone APN changed to www.vodafone.net.nz to get 3G working on the $1 a day prepay data option. However, upon enabling tethering (using USB), not only can't I get tethering to work but the tethering options disappeared from the Network Settings on the iphone. I did a reset network settings as per reply #226201 above to get tethering options back OK, which also resets the APN by to the default.

Questions is, can tethering be used with VF prepay then?

Anyone been able to get the iPhone and Vista via Bluetooth to play nice - Vista can't find/see a driver for the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".

First step was ensuring the Bonjour service was running - wouldn't pair without.

Still no joy connecting though.

Hey there. I've managed to connect my MacBookPro to the internet via my iPhone via blue tooth.:) I can receive email via my MacMail account. However, I can't seem to send email from my MacMail account on my laptop.  Any ideas from anyone what the problem is? I presumed I need to set up an SMTP outgoing mail address on MacMail on my laptop.  I would have thought smtp2.vodafone.net.nz but it doesn't seem to work

any ideas???????

thanks
tom

All is fixed. Vodafone have changed things at their end to allow iphone-vodafone.net.nz APN to work with ALL plans.

You will need to do a reset settings under Settings:General:Network:Cellular Network then a hard restart.

Tethering works beautifully after this. No need for any unofficial carrier files.

Cheers vodafone.

I've written a blog post on how to fix the disappearing tethering settings for Vodafone NZ - hopefully this helps.
