You will have to re-jailbreak after every update, a online tutorial is Here. I have just tested it with a iPhone 3GS and it works no problems.

Note: If it's a NZ iPhone you will not have to follow the unlock, since they come factory unlocked. Teathering Support does not work, but I suspect the Jailbreak Community will find a way around it eventually.

OK, so even with a Voda SIM + OS 3.1 I've lost tethering.

Tried both APNs, restored the original Vodafone ipcc (from www.iphonewzealand.co.nz) and have restarted after each change; still my tethering hasn't re-appeared.

Thoughts anyone?

I know the APN is signed in some way through the Carrier Bundles.. is there a way to force the re-download of the ipcc through iTunes (held by Apple?) - Or just wait it out until a "fix" is found?

Were you using a Carrier Bundle from iPhone NZ? If so they are not signed bundles & iTunes keeps these on your device when you do the update. Your best bet is to take a backup, do a _total restore_ & test it then. If it still doesn't work you can apply your backup again and scream at the top of your lungs.

That's no problems, don't worry, I dread the backup-restore of iTunes also.. Especally since I jailbreak too things can get a tad messy.

Confused? This site says wait? But you can confirm the jailbrake still works with redsnow 8!

Cheers

thefatmould: Apparently iPhone os 3.1 is 4.95us for people on 2.x firmwares

That's half price !!

The iPhone OS 3.1 upgrade is free for iPod touch owners with 3.0 software and all iPhone owners. While the upgrade from any version to 3.0 used to cost $10, Apple has lowered that price to $5 for iPod touch owners who haven't yet updated.

I'm keen to do it as I''m sick of having to double up half my contacts to see who is calling... but man cant live without the jailbrake! And I'm half way through NFS... dont want to loose my save game. hmm wonder if I can save it somehow.

if youre jailbroken with 3.0 then you dont need to keep doubling up your contacts.. just apply the "Caller ID and Format Fix" patch.

I dont see a whole lot new in 3.1 that would encourage me to update at this stage.. although i probably will get itchy fingers and hit the update button soon enough.

Hi,
I can't seem to find that package anymore. In Cydia there is no CallerID package on ispazio repo and on their site, the latest version is for firmware 2.2.

Anybody knows what happened to this package?

Thanks.
