How does it work with the iPad power supply, will it work with NZ power outlets with a converter? Or do you need a recent mac with the uber-USB powered ports?

The power plugs are interchangeable. That is, all you have to do is pull off the US plug (so to speak) and stick on a NZ plug. If you have an iPhone you'll know what I mean. Otherwise it's universal (110-240V) so you can use it anywhere in the world, all you have to do is swap the plugs over.

This link to Apple's travel kit explains it better in pictures:

Ohh I handled an iPad this morning. Work colleague purchased two and his mate in USA shipped them over. Very very very cool indeed. Screen rotation super quick, compared with iPhone, seems like accelerometer is better.
Unit is heavier than I expected.
Screen is awesome, v bright.
Unit is fast, noticeably much faster than my iPhone.

Can't wait to get my own!

I do want to play with one though, so hopefully we get them in NZ sometime soon.

No your calculation looks spot on. The price has stayed the same, $155 USD, however I was just being rough with my numbers, from memory it would have been 10 or so bucks more than $200. I didn't take into account their $25 shipping charge either. So doing it on a currency calculator (rather than my head), with an actual exchange rate (rather than my usual back of the envelope 0.75), actually taking into account shipping and not rounding to the nearest $100 I get $252.81.

At that price I'd be keen on the device if Enso could get some independent reviews out there and I could be convinced that if I gave them my money they would in fact send me a device!

Best regards,
Aaron Davidson.

In an update, just checking the Enso zenPad site, the device has not shipped yet. It was meant to have been shipping last month but sometime recently they have updated their site to say the device will now be shipping on the 8th of May. That would certainly explain why there have been no independent reviews, no unboxing shots etc.

Best regards,
Aaron Davidson.

I was using my Saturday night sober driver's iPad while in the car - I can say the first thing I noticed about it was it's heavy weight!

I guess I just expected it to be more comparable to the weight of normal portable devices such as an iPhone (obviously I shouldn't have assumed that).

I think it will take a little bit of time getting used to holding it in one hand while using your other finger to use the touch screen because of it's weight, but you should get used to it in no time (maybe).

Good on you guys for bringing in some iPad's for us by the way : )

you would expect it to be heavier than the iphone cosidering its 6 times the size of the iphone...does it feel 6 times heavier?

Well I've had to send it on to the next reviewer now, so i can't say it felt 6 times heavier. It wasn't light completely though. I did find my arm starting to hurt a bit as I played with it....but it's the sort of thing you're more likely to sit in your lap and use than hold at arms length. Imagine a moderately heavy book...you'd not hold that up unsupported for too long. I do think it is in dire need of a stand....and even the most rudimentary of one (sans any dock connection) really could have been included.

The funniest thing I experienced was going back to my iPhone. Suddenly that seems a bit too tiny, and I almost feel like there should be an "iPhone Max" or maybe an "iPad Nano" to come up with something in between.

Well Apple have delayed the international release of the iPad by a month due to heavy demand....
