the thing i don't get about your carrier bundles is why does your custom vodafone carrier bundle say it enables MMS when the latest iPhone firmware already enables MMS?

also if something goes wrong with a person's iPhone after they install a custom carrier bundle, will the iPhone warranty cover the repair?


MMS requires the data networking to be setup, and frequently the data traffic is sent to a separate GGSN (SGSN?) from the one providing the rest of the data connections.  It makes it easier to charge flat rate per message instead of the per byte rate on the GGSN with an internet connection.

So, if the main data connection is going through one point, and the MMS' are sent through another, it won't work until the carrier settings are correct.

That's just the stock standard explanation for a carrier bundle. The bundle doesn't do anything that can't be done manually (excluding the carrier logo).

For Vodafone, all the bundle will do (including what you can do already - MMS, Tethering etc) is add the nice logo and allow you to edit the APN (nullrouting cellular data traffic).

There is nothing on the Vodafone Bundle download page that says it "enables" MMS.

"Here is the Vodafone carrier bundle. The bundle has been updated and now all services work as they currently do, including Tethering, Data, MMS and Voicemail button but you can now have a custom carrier logo."

If something goes wrong with a person's iPhone it more than likely won't be becasue they installed the bundle, 100's of users have installed it without issue. However as usual users must always be aware that they install it at their own risk.
