Is anyone surprised that the ETA is 3 weeks?

I wonder if the units that have been purchased from the Apple Online Store this evening have been manufactured yet.

I'm not suprised by that at all. I was close to buying but hate the fact I wouldn't see anything for three weeks... I like to walk out with product or at least see it the next day!

Yup, rang Apple Sales support to check, and the customer service rep confirmed that it is fine. Apparently the iPhones are coming from the Sydney warehouse, therefore the reason for the AUS part. That's a relief!

"Sources say each telco has received only about 12,000 to 13,000 iPhone 4 units in the first batch, and with Optus alone getting more than 100,000 pre-order customers, stock is likely to run out within days".

100,000 pre-order customers! That is impressive! They are going to be short for a very long time... Maybe I change my mind about pre ordering!

Lol... Well here I am trying to buy an Apple product online using an Apple product (iPad) and either the browser is wrong or I'm on the wrong site... (apparently the official NZ Apple store isn't the right one)

Enuff games for one month... I'm outta here. This has to be one of the greatest cock ups in retail history.
