There is this to consider too...
http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/special-offers/500-credit
Apparently this will be extended through to Sept. (Based on a conversation with a retail staff member)

Digital island (xt reseller) has by far the sweetest plans if your spending a bit of time on your phone
and they give $500 credit when you bring your own iphone

TreeCrusher: Well I went in last night and bribed the vodafone guy. When I got there at 12 today I went straight to the front of the line and picked up my 2 new iPhone 4's

Then someone should be sacked! ?

What ever. I got my phones without waiting. Did you?

I guarantee this is noob BS

Your guarantee is not worth the web space it is written in.  Whether you believe me or not I don't care.

The fact is I talked to an employee on Wednesday and asked what I could do to speed the process up. We negotiated that I would come in and fill out the paper work on Thursday afternoon, which I did. When I was there I slipped the guy $20 to "look after me" on release day. You will find there are two puzzled dudes out there somewhere that I was talking to when I "mysteriously" got called to the front of the line.

Why should the dude get fired, he's on not much above the minimum wage why shouldn't make a little on the side when the opportunity strikes. New Zealanders are way to naive when it come to lubricating the wheels to get them moving in their direction.

Good luck in the future with your "guarantees". I hope nobody is paying anything for them.

Lol! Funniest thing all day. So NZ'ers are naive when it comes to bribing people? O.K. It's funny to see what lengths people will go to just for a little ego boost at work! You win!

mkl: Guys don't break on your first month, do what I did today if you want to buy on plan from Vodafone.

Buy iPhone 4 on $40 plan

$619

Pay $40 for 6 months = $240

Break contract after 6 months = $315 (inc gst)

Add them:

$1174

$75 more compared to buying outright, but you get 6 months of calls, txts and 3GB data (till Sept).
So in the end you'll probably save especially since you're going to be purchasing TXT2000, and additional data separately anyway.

Breaking during 0 to 6 months is costly ($506.25). I wouldn't recommend it.

See http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=76&topicid=65204 for a full comparison.

Don't you think the white iPhone will be available by the 3 weeks shipping time.

3 weeks is crazy but it's better than nothing, we all have to wait for nearly a month while a select group of users get to rub it into our face.

Looks like the dust has settled now and we'll probably hear more when users start to receive their online orders. Good Luck.

3 week wait is painful. Perhaps I sold my 3G little too soon..

If your hunting for people to fire for launch day offenses, how about the Vodafone staff which botched the launch day into such a embarrassment that it was mentioned as a passing joke in the byline of the Australian launch articles in the mac press worldwide?

Personally I'd start there myself.

The real question is, anyone found anywhere which has iPhone 4 stock left in NZ which doesn't require a contract?
