JimmyC:
jamesjc25: Another 16 days until my iPhone is supposed to arrive, only a tardy month after launch...

That is of course assuming that the NZ courier can deliver it as estimated and not take 5 days to deliver a package which was supposed to be over night.

Rumour has it that those Apple store orders with the 6 day shipping time are being shipped from the factory in China direct.

Yeah but it still has to use someone in NZ when it lands on our shores :)

Does anyone know if the white version (32gb) will be the same price as black and how much more of a delay is there for white?

Stuff from the Apple Store usually comes from Oz. I believe they're trying to do us a favour by getting them to us as quickly as possible, ie: from China direct, rather than landing in Oz, being inventoried and addressed, then freighted again.

That makes it sound cheaper for Apple too...

My 2 previous experiences with the Apple store demonstrated once the product arrives in NZ it's with me the very next day. The tracking they use is very good. I knew my iPad case had arrived at our reception and which receptionist had signed for it before they were able to ring me to say it was here.

I've had many instances where my item was dispatched from Shenzhen. I think non-build to order items and stuff that have already been released for ages are be dispatched from Aussie.

Yes I was there today at approx 2 this afternoon. I was after the 32gb and didn't ask how many of the 16gb's they had left.

Just got an email from a Vodafone Retail Store mentioning they have received new stock of 16GB (30) and 32GB (7) models, and that they'll be selling on a first-come-first-served basis from tomorrow morning.

Gonna pay a visit to my local Vodafone shop to see if I can get one.

Yes, I believe so. It will cost you, though. Termination fees and etc.

The email I got was FROM a specific store, not head office, so yes.

Other stores may differ.
