Kitanai: Wait, so if you can only get a microSIM for free if you are purchasing an iPhone 4, then does that mean that only Vodafone Retail stores will be selling the iPhone 4 and what on earth happens if you buy from MagnumMac??

This is really tarded.

This release is such a disturbing mess.  What on earth was Apple/Vodafone thinking!?!?!?

I guess I'll be lining up at the Vodafone Retail store in Glenfield at 8:30am, and harassing them alot this avo to see if they'll admit to having stock!

Sup,  I am in gField too, was thinking of doing the same.  The mall doesn't open till 9am, which means a dash from the mall door to VF.
I hassled the dude yesterday, who said they WILL have stock, but he was such an egg, who knows.  Givus a heads up if you get anything out them today.

If you buy an iPad from the likes of MagnumMac, DSE etc., it comes pre-loaded with a Vodafone micro sim right?

I really wish that Telecom would sell the iPhone just to get Vodafone off their high horse

OooH thanks Nudge.  I will most likely see you there!  Westfield open their doors half an hour before the mall opens so that all the staff can go in an open their stores, so I'll be outside the Vodafone store.

Yeah this whole process is so frustrating. I have money, I want to give it to them. Just tell me where and when! Vodafone couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery!

Stalker, lol it looks like he just replied saying info will come when they can release it.

Which is basically them trying to say its apples fault which it is nearly assured that its not with all the world wide info already being released.

Looks like they are shutting down iPhone 4 discussion at the VF forums.

Not necessarily...

It could mean that their iphone4 pricing will be high and they want people to show up at the stores and purchase without having a chance to think their purchase through..

It could also mean they don't want to release their plans and risk having Telecom offer a better deal in the form of account credit, right before the phone is launched - enticing customers to resign with Telecom over Vodafone.

VF could be delaying as long as possible so Telecom don't know what they are going to offer. Telecom could come up with their own plans and account credit to entice people to buy the phones from VF outright and switch.

Telecom will retort regardless of the price but they didn't release their prices until well after the 3GS launch I thought so that wouldnt matter.

Still don't get why in the email they said they would give us info last week, but then they decided not to.

That tbh is unaceptable, seriously why is it that NZ always get screwed. Every other item is given a date yet this isnt wtf.

My idea of getting my sim card changed early didn't work as apparently unless you do it with the iPhone purchase even if you are on account you will be charged which sucks.

I don’t mean to be a downer but after returning to NZ from 11 years living around Europe Im not actually surprised with this.
I find management here to be woefully lacking.

So many things we would consider an easy 123 project plan NZ seems to completely screw up.

We ballsed up the joint hosting rights for the 2003 RWC with Australia and it got taken off us.

The Party central on Auckland’s waterfront is still a pipedream 14 months away from the event due to internal squabbling.

Mobile phones are still a joke here and only started to improve once 2degrees broke the chokehold.

How people in Vodafone can think not releasing info on a mobile device until the moment it launches is good business practice I don’t know.
Seems like idiots running something far beyond their station and treating the customers like idiots as well.

Thats why I am annoyed. If a company says something you expect them to back it up instead of ignoring it and pretending that it didn't happen

^^ Ew Ew Ew above, edit your post (I see you have now lol)
