BogBeast: No matter what happens, VF have had their reputation tarnished by this fracas.? Totally unacceptable to not comment either way IMHO.

A lot of people moved from XT when they had reception problems not so long ago, with VF picking up the majority of them.? One would have thought VF would have wanted to retain customers, not lose them.

I have been with VF/Bellsouth since day 1.? Am seriously considering a move to XT because of this debacle.

I seriously doubt any iPhone users moved from XT to Vodafone. Once you've used an iPhone on XT you would never go back to Vodafone!

Totally agree 100%. Change BogBeast, iPhone and XT were made for each other.

Thanks guys.  What makes the XT network better for iPhones?  Just the frequencies or is there something else?

Cheers

What's all this people. This is no different to the iPad launch. We didn't know till last Friday morning who was selling it plus vodafone don't sell the iPad either.

See the shift here?

No doubt in my mind what's going to happen here.

Theoretically, with the iPhone 4, there will be no advantage of being on the XT network as iP4 supports 900mhz...

Vodafone must be spitting tacks if they really have lost the deal with Apple.

Bit of a debacle on their part really.

Apple probably saw all the videos of the Vodafone network vs XT and pulled em from Vodafone for being so slow lol :D

The 850MHz frequency has much better building penetration, it is obviously 3G everywhere you go, anecdotally it is generally faster than VF, and you don't have to worry about your phone dropping to 2G every time you walk into a shadow...

So if VF don't get iPhone 4, where do I get a VF micro Sim to replace my regular VF Sim? Can I get an XT micro Sim and keep my VF number?
I was hoping to get a ip4 tomorrow, but if no telco's stock it that might only be half the battle.
Maybe I'll just wait a week and let the dust settle.
Honestly I thought the lack of ip4 stuff on the VF site was only while they prep the released ip4 site. Although I signed up for ip4 notifications via VF a few weeks back, and so far have had none.
This is worse than Coronation Street.
Can't wait to see what happens.
Robby.

Shockingly I personally evaluated 3g on XT and found it to be great when compared

The 3G on XT might be great, but for what you get an iPhone 4 subsidised on the Vodafone iPhone 40 plan is the best deal around.  I did a price comparison with my last three bills with XT + 2Degrees and that plan still comes out on top, plus a 400ish $ discount

I can't believe they're still not commenting tho. Can you imagine standing in line for a product for perhaps several hours only to be told oh, sorry, we don't actually have any... That will only add to the pile of poo VF have got themselves into...
