nudge:

Yeah I think so.  I am not completely down with the rules, but I brought all my apps (including TomTom) a while ago, on my 3g and synced etc.
Then got the iPhone4 and synced all the same apps to the new phone.  Not a prob.  In fact I use my laptop to sync to my phone with my music etc and the Mrs got the old 3g on the desktop, syncing the same apps and different music.
I think the key is to use the same Itunes account.  A mate told me this is actually allowed as Apple have a 2 phone policy thing.

Thanks :) that will make it alot cheaper!

You have a new iPhone now what.....

Spent  25 dollars on the only case i could find, when i bought it, ( didnt want to not case it first day) which was rubbish.
Screwed up the screen protector that was free with rubbish case so it was full of dust and bubbles.

Spent another 30 dollars on some antiglare screen protectors.

Failed again and applying first one

Applied second one with success to find out anti glare, makes retina display look crap.

So removed.

Spent 50 dollars on nice black case after visiting 6 stores around auckland this morning. Very very slack selection everyone.

Screwed up yet again, the free screen protector that came with case.

Bought another pack of CLEAR screen protectors for 25 dollars.

Spent 20 mins, polishing and removing dust and specs, and finally with succes, applied screen protector and case im happy with.

The Moral of the story. Im not starting a screen protector applying business.

But im happy with my iPhone 4, and cant get grip of death to work.

My only gripe. voice dialing will NOT turn off. ( and yes i have turned it off in settings)

Er, yes, slight rant.

Yikes, you spent $130 on cases and screen protectors! Can you let us know the screen protector brand that worked for you?

I know!!

Cygnett Silicon  Case was the first one, 25 dollars, and floppy rubbish. Although it did cover the back and would offer some protection.

But looked awful.

Cygnett, Anti Glare protectors, 4 pack, 3 x front, 1 x rear. $29.99. they have a matt finish, and although may suit some people the anti glare just made the screen look blury, although it left less finger prints.

But the winnner.

A 50 dollar iLuv dual black case, and clear belkin screen protectors, 30 dollars.

The case comprises of a softer rubber skin you put around , cover the back as well, then click over a harder plastic backing, and has a lip around the front, so even if you did throw it across the floor on its face, it wouldnt touch the screen.

Magnum mac has little or no cases in newmarket, or albany. ( manager said they were waiting for more, and he knows, and apologised)

Noel leemings has a 1 selection.

Harvey Normans, wairau had the best selection, although stacked in heap so hard to spot.  but they wouldnt open any for me to look at.

JB hifi, in mall albany none. bond and bond, none. vodafone stores on the shore, had 1 or 2 pink ones.

In the end i got it from the stall in the albany westfield, the little vodafone stand, in the middle, and the guy there opened all the cases and let me try them on. So i bought it from them.

now if you want to wait and get wood case, check this out. www.grovemade.com

Don't bother with a front screen protector. It's Gorilla Glass. Anything that will scratch it will destroy your thin plastic film well before it scratches the screen anyway.

My favourite screen protector is a clean cotton shirt, trouser or jacket pocket with NOTHING else in it. Never had any issues "applying" it and it polishes the screen for me while I walk or move. But musn't put anything else in it. No keys. No coins. No papers with ink. Just the phone.

Re Facetime: when you activate it on your phone it sends a txt to a UK number. Ahmad made a post about it.

Re: Facetime,

Thanks for that link, i missed that discussion, it was already on and then activated when i bought my phone, now updating it to Beta 3, you have to turn Facetime on.

And now it clearly states  : ( Sorry the image in in your face)

factime activation
