shadybrothers: because the herald has an app.

Does it? I can't find a current one. Google tells me it was removed from the App Store http://www.totali.co.nz/news/12/NZHerald-iPhone-Application-Removed-from-App-Store

allan: Think I'll just stick with the mobile site at http://m.stuff.co.nz. It loads nice and fast without all the other crud and after all I'm only there to read the news.

^^ This...

One of easiest mobile news sites to get around. They didn't need an app for the iPhone, and the full web site looks great on the iPad. An app seems a little redundant to me.

m.stuff.co.nz
Now why didn't I think of trying that... oh wait I'm lazy and assume everyone who has a mobile site will do browser detection.

Up until a few weeks ago, there used to be another good mobile site for news at xtra.co.nz/pda, which was also quite barebones and fast loading. It now redirects to the horrible http://nz.m.yahoo.com/w/ygo-frontpage/home.bp?view=today&.tsrc=tnz
