kendog: Got a 64 3G from hn in Wellington. They had 30 only, but not all models (I wanted wifi only)

I was first in queue arriving at 11.30 of the 5 people behind me 4 were there for their boss at work.

?

Was it black or white?

?

They have 12 different variations, so you are unlikely to get the model you want it you buy at the launch 'party'

?

I see some people who purchased today have put them on trademe at highly inflated prices. All appear to be in chch which is strange.

Got a black one, most people seemed to want the black one.

Black are the preferable ones, as the white 16 GB ones were the last ones left at the store I was at. I wonder whatever happened to the white iphone, as they obviously can make them in black, but maybe that was something to do with the white glass back.

Where the ipad 2 3g says 'assisted GPS' does that mean it uses the cell towers rather than satelites to find it's location?

I got a white one, but it's only white on the border surrounding the screen so it's hardly noticeable.. And I got a green cover for it which is really cool, they are a great idea !
I think the backs are all silver anyway aren't they?
When you are almost the last in the line and they are just about sold-out you dont have much choice :-(
But I'm really happy with it ! It's great !

Got a black ipad2 16gb wifi. App store and safari work great, but I'm having issues with the marvel comics app and comixology. I've installed them and signed in successfully but nothing will load. Just says downloading data and nothing happens for ages. Anyone know if those apps are overloaded at the moment or why I can't get anything to load?

I was late to the party, so will be waiting an age to get mine through the Apple website.
Oh well... good things to those who wait I suppose?

Ok didn't know you can use the iPad 3G as a gps. This is great. And no issues of LCD bleeding

I forgot about the light bleeding. In the dark with the brightness up I can see light round two edges. Will see how it looks tomorrow.

Consumer had a story about light bleed on the iphone, and they consider some normal, and it is just part of the manufacturing limitations. They don't think it is a reason for the product to be switched for a new one.

I just did the test from this site
http://www.theipadguide.com/content/ipad-2-display-problems-surface-test-your-screen-defects/7177339
I have massive bleeding on two sides, some bleeding on another side.

Once the supply levels have improved I will send it back.

Anyone know a store in Auckland that has a 3G iPad 2 left? I lined up for 3 hours @YooBee Newmarket to find they had sold out of 3Gs :(

I did a skype video call to family in OZ on the ipad 2 with skype yesterday.
I must say I was impressed, It was very easy to use with the cover folded up as a stand and the picture quality was fine as well, slightly better than my laptop.
A lot easier than using the laptop moving it around.
Had to 2x the screen though but it was still ok.
Can't wait for skype for ipad now then it will be in HD.
