Apple's delivery times are an upper bound.

Put it this way, I've never had an item come later than their ETA, and have had it come a day or two earlier pretty much every time.

Well, today is the estimated shipping date and the Order went to 'Prepared for Shipment' last night. I'm guessing/hoping that it will be shipped tonight sometime which is just in their estimate time for shipment. If it's not shipped overnight then I'm on phone with them first thing in the morning.

Mine arrived on Friday (just two days after shipping!). The delivery date was for next Tuesday but as soon as the plane landed in Auckland, I rung TNT up to see if I can pick up the parcel myself to avoid the waiting the whole weekend. Ended up picking at 4PM ;)..

The wait was excruciating for me atleast, bordering on unhealthy at times. It's worth the wait though. I've drained it from 100% to 0% two times already over last two days - going by Apple's estimate it's 20 hours of use in one weekend :)

And if you are worried about screen bleed issue the ipad 2 has been having, I'm thrilled to let you know that Apple seemed to have fixed the issue. There is almost no screen bleed on my iPad on full black screen, in dark room at 100% brightness. There teenie-tiny amount of bleeding at full brightness but that's really really nitpicking. I suspect all screens have this amount. There are no dead pixels either ;)

Mine has bleeding. Guess I will look into a replacement at some stage.

I placed the order for mine a couple of days ago - 64GB Black 3G..

The estimated ship date is the 31st May - delivery by 6/6 :(

If anyone else's device arrives earlier, they should post here as to how long it took (dates they ordered and stuff). I'm just so excited to get the damn thing that I am trying to work out the average delivery period, as I know Apple over-estimate

Mine shipped the day Apple said it would ship. It got here just 2 days though. Shipped last wednesday nzt, got here by friday afternoon. I had to pick it up from TNTs depot at Auckland airport to avoid waiting for it for the whole weekend. So I got mine 4 days before Apple's estimated delivery date.

I've read that 64gbs are shipping fairly quick. Some guys at the whirlpool forums in Aus got their within a week of ordering.

I really wish that is the case for me.. I am actually seriously pining over it :P I can't wait. I've waited a whole year since the first one was released to get one. I am literally checking the page every day at least 4-5 times.

Pining is a good description aroona.

I am checking once a day, despite knowing that they send you an email to tell you that it has shipped!

I waited a year, because it didn't have a facing camera (want this to be the default email checker/browser, skype/facetime device in the house)

I went to every shop in Wellington on the 14th to see if any had stock. I got the "you can preorder with us" and the "dunno when Apple will restock us" answers.

The most annoying thing is apple charging my credit card 3 weeks before delivery...

Actually Jon, Apple only put an authorization charge on your credit card. I think it's just to check that you have enough money in the account. The charge will automatically drop after 5 days. After the iPad has shipped, then they will take the actual money from the card. For me, they didn't charge until after the iPad had been delivered. Infact I had been using the ipad for 3-4 days when they took the money from the account.

Thanks, I didn't even consider a pre-authorisation. Doesn't make me want to wait any longer though...

Shipped last night at 9:00 ish (not sure what time zone). Was predicted to ship on the 30th.

Maybe Steve read about my pining and sent it early... ;)

I got an email saying it was shipped at 21:15:57 last night - estimated to be delivered by the 31st.

It comes from South China FYI.

Mines crossed over to Hong Kong now.
