Well it shows one bar, but hwen looking in Settings About its shows  Network Not Available and Carrier not available. I am with 2degrees in a bad reception area for 2G and 3G. I expect because of the bad reception I wont see anything in those columns.

Also I can not find the profiles  of networks that maybe available. Either way I can't change the APN's in the cellular data area either.

help please guys

What model iPhone what software version?

if you go settings - Carrier, what networks show? try manually select 2degrees. From the info you have given it sounds as if it isn't unlocked.

Remember jailbreaking it doesn't mean unlocking

Ok doki, the OS version is 4.3 (8F190) with modem Firmware 06.15.00, you could be correct as to the unlocking. I will see if I can find a code unlock.
Thanks for your help

Hi,
I gotta say - any forum where you're hoping for help, it really assists anyone to know the actual hardware you're dealing with (earlier poster asked which model iPhone), which computer system & OS you're using, and which jailbreak method you're using. Also - is it actually iOS 4.3, or is it one of the more recent updates?
I recently tried the Pwanage Tool on my Mac to JB my iPhone 3GS on 4.3.3, XT network - even though I'd checked the 'carrier activate' box it just would not find a cellular signal. I restored to factory 4.3.3 & then used Redsn0w - all good. A simpler & faster JB all around... plus I had the benefit of actually being able to use it as a phone again...whew!

Cheers,
Mike

You have the iPad baseband so you don't need an unlock, unfortunately this means you will be plagued with poor signal and no gps functionatiliy,

I had this problem when I jailbreak'd my old iPhone 3GS.
I tried everything to get a signal but in the end putting the firmware on again and jailbreaking again got it going.
The only thing I can put it down to is that the first time I went through the process of updating the firmware and jailbreaking I didn't have a sim card in the phone, the 2nd time I did.
