On the Smartphone plans you can take $10 Text Boost and it will take you up to 2500 texts (The $10 Text Boost is available on the current Talk & Text and Smartphone plans... except for a couple of the high end ones which already include 2500 texts)

now that telecom is on the Apple bandwagon (with some AWESOME pricing!!) - any chance of some special iPad 3G data plans?

The current $25 for 500MB + $1 per MB after that is a bit steep

Just don't download so much ;)

Or 2gb for $50 - Anyway, let's keep talking about this iPhone thing, and how it's now on Telecom. </cynical>

Come on Vodafone, let us know your subsidies before I sign up with Telecom. Delaying until Friday will only cost you loyal customers.

Does anyone know if it is possible to terminate the iphone plane with Telecom after you have signed up with it (if so how much is the termination fee).

Previously I usually sign up with Vodafone for the $40 dollars plan and terminate it after a year for 195 dollars, which comes out roughly same as buying a phone out straight + $20 dollars usage allowance for myself each month.

Thanks

A quick search of the Telecom site hasn't revealed the answers to some questions I have.

If you're heading into a store to sign a contract with Telecom, what do you need to take with you. Not keen to wait in line only to find they want something I don't have.

I'm a Telecom custoemr for broadband and home phone, so is a print-out from the PDF of my recent bill sufficient?

I have a family member who is interested but currently has no Telecom account. Presumably he'll need some form of ID? How many do Telecom need and what is acceptable for ID? He doesn't drive.

From that it looks to be 12 months (into contract) $200 or 13 months (into contract) $130. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the reply,

What would the iphone plan count as? Say the 80 dollars iphone plan, would that be equal to a 80 dollars smartphone plan which is Tier 3.

So according to that data table, if I went with the 80 dollars plan after 12 months I terminate it I would pay $280 dollars for termination?

That means 80 * 12 + 299 + 280 = 1539 for a 32gb iphone.

Subtract the price of a 32gb which is 1539 - 1199 =  340,

so will be paying 28.33 per month which is cheaper then the full 24 months contract paying 42.50 a month ^^.

Im calculating this because I am almost definite that I will buy the next iphone on a plan again, so I would prefer having to terminate after 12 months.

But this looks a little dodgy consider how much they charge the phone for with their 12 months contract.

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, johnr commented that the information was under non-disclosure.
