My music collection is about 20gb.  Would be nice to have it all on the phone at the same time.

Beyond that, I imagine high-res photos and videos (which the phone can take/record) would quickly take up room; then add in some apps and other things..

32gb would probably suffice - but for $149 to double the capacity of the phone, it seems like a small price to pay.

Interesting,............ rang my local vodafone store and was told they have a few 16Gb amd 32Gb phones but no 64Gb as they are hard to get. She was super helpful and tried her utmost to get a 64Gb in for me to buy outright even though she was told they will not be selling phones outright from the stores. Only online.

Rang the Telecom store, again very helpful. They did have a few (very few) 64Gb iphones and said I would have to be one of the first to get one as they had many enquiries. So, plan is to try and buy one of those outright from Telecom (he was quite happy with this knowing I am a Vodafone customer) and if successful and my online order with Apple has still not been prepared for shipping (meaning I will have been charged), I will cancel and have my iphone tomorrow.............fingers crossed.

Impressed with both stores considering I am NOT living in a major city.

Yep, https://www.vodafone.co.nz/iphone4s/buy/.

Just read this and found it strange:

"Your order will be sent to the address you supply on 11 November 2011. We’ll do everything possible to ensure your iPhone 4S is available on the 11th however we can’t guarantee the delivery date and time. You won’t be charged a delivery fee."

How could they ship it to us by the 11th? Its past normal courier hours and nobody had a chance to order it just yet unless they somehow ship it out tonight on overnight courier.

I hope both Telecom and Vodafone have a great launch tonight, it can only be good for everyone.  Both these companies are here to make a profit, by investing in these launches, they will be hoping to get more revenue.  The more successful they are, the more likely they will do it again with future launches like the iPhone 5 etc.  If not, then we will just be left behind like previous years.

Stupidity if this is true, they should have been shipping them out first thing Tuesday in time for arrival on Friday. e.g. One day sending to the center, one day processing, one day out for delivery. It makes sense!

Not even Apple are doing that though so no surprise Telecom and Vodafone haven't.

Very true. It's nice to have a bit of excitement built up around the launch and midnight opening is good fun so I can see why they've done it this way.
