Just an update for those looking to get phones in Wellington.. Spoke to one of the store guys here and they've got not much stock at the moment at the store (hopefully enough to serve the existing line) but new stock scheduled to come in at some point later today. :)

Lizard1977: Amazing! Strolled into Telecom, almost done. No probs. but Vodafone are still closed, big queue of grumpy people. LOL!

Eh, why are they still closed?

Turns out they're not closed.  They're just letting people in one at a time.  So they usher a person in, and bring the barrier down, leaving a queue of people outside waiting while they serve the one customer.  Telecom, however, managed to cope with the influx quite well.  They got through about a half dozen people in about 20 minutes, no fuss at all.  Our purchase was a breeze, walked out feeling a little sorry for the unlucky Vodafone hopefuls...

The store in Palmy is very small compared to the Telecom one, about a quarter of the size.

That's true, but still it looked like the VF staff were panicky and didn't know how to deal with the "crowd" so decided to gate them instead.  Telecom were just much more relaxed and laidback.

Also heard from the Telecom sales rep that VF had only about 60 handsets, while Telecom had over 200 instore.  That's just for the two main Palmy stores...

To all the people who ordered from Telecom online: I just spoke with a CSR to ask about shipping and getting tracking numbers, etc., and they claimed that they will not be shipping today but instead on Monday as all the orders are only just starting to come through now.

@codyc1515 and of course a few 16gb and 32gb as well. It's just the 64gb iPhone4s is rather limited stock.

My old phone has been moved across to my new plan, so something's happened!

So the $400 termination fee on Smartphone 40 (tier 1) is higher than the $350 phone subsidy...

But after three months it drops off so it's not too bad :)

Slowly, slowly, I'm wondering if I should cancel my order and pick one up in store. My only concern would be the refund time.

Hi guys

Well it was a late night but I got my White 32GB from the Welly store. The queue moved a bit slow at first but the guys there were brilliant and made it quite a fun time. Although cheering each and every person who walked out of the store when they'd bought it was a little too much for everyone I think!

My problem now is that I have a faulty iPhone. Siri doesn't hear me and on further testing no one can here me when I make a call unless I use speakerphone! I recorded a voice memo to hear it for myself and my voice is very feint and there is lots of interference.

Busy at the mo so can't get to the Telecom store until a bit later today but I really hope they'll be able to help me with a replacement.

All in all it's great though and I'm so glad I got a white one :-)

Yep, heard about this fault. Apparently it does need a hardware replacement from what I've read. Hopefully they will have enough stock to replace it with.

Thanks Akia

Can you put one aside for me? I won't be able to get in for a few hours so don't want the lunchtime rush to take one
