Hi All.

I am looking at selling my new iPad (iPad 3) with 3G and Wifi. It's the 16GB model. Never been jailbreak. And has had screen protector on since day one.

I'm still somewhat unsure about whether I would like to keep it or not, but if the price is right I'd love to get rid of it in exchange for something like the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet.

Reason? I currently use the iPad for notetaking (freehand writing), and as I understand, the digitiser pen that comes with the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet would be better suited for this purpose. Correct me if I am wrong.

I am happy to sell the iPad WITH the Yoobao Leather case, and the Bamboo Stylus Solo.

Just for your info, all these were purchased in NZ, so has NZ warranty etc. The iPad was purchased from JB Hifi Westgate, Bamboo Stylus Solo from PB Tech, and the Yoobao Leather Case from TradeMe.

Any questions, please fire away. I'd also appreciate any feedback or experiences with the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet or similar devices with digitiser stylus.

Cheers guys.

The Lenovo Thinkpad tablet does have a better stylus than any of the iPad's or Android tables since it has a special digitizing surface designed for that. And it comes with an active pen with a AAA battery in it The stylus is much easier to write with since it has a point rather than a blunt knob.

The application supplied with it is pretty basic (sort of a notebook app) but does have handwriting recognition, either in real time or delayed.

The Lenovo's recently have been updated to ICS so they are better than before but when they get Jellybean is anybody's guess. They are also quite chunky being designed for a corporate environment and not as "cool" as an iPad. I could never get our exec's to use them but they took to the iPad's like ducks to water.

In the you have to decide what you really want the device for make the decision accordingly.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  Mention GZ to get a 10% discount

Thanks for the comment on the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet. It's good to know that is has a good stylus for writing. As for handwriting recognition, I'm not really too fussed about it as free-hand is good enough for me.

I won't be able to get one until I got rid of my current iPad.

Any offers? $850 anyone? The leather case supports the auto sleep/wake function, just like the Smart Cover/Case does. More info on it can be found here:

lchiu7: not as "cool" as an iPad.

I take it you are referring to Apple getting told by a judge that the Galaxy is not as cool as the iPad and so Apple's case got dismissed.  Love it.

Hey have you tried Note Taker HD? I use it for lectures and it's great. Haven't missed writing on pen and paper.

Thanks for the suggestion. I currently use GoodReader. Haven't tried Note Taker HD, but if you have tried GoodReader before, how do they compare?

My biggest issue at the moment is palm rejection on the apps. I have tried ezPDF, GoodReader (as above) and pdf-notes.

I'd probably give Note Taker HD a go, and if it fixes the issue, I'd be more than happy to keep the iPad. :) Other than this freehand writing issue, I'm pretty happy with the iPad. Not that I think it's "cool" ;)

Just thought I'd report back on my experience with Note Taker HD. I felt it was far superior to Good Reader in terms of PDF annotation with added ability to insert pages, and also able to resize the zoom area.

It has actually made writing on the iPad far more bearable than before, and I'm happy to say I will be keeping the iPad.

So, this sale is withdrawn. Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions.
