modded RGH xbox 360 will not be able to connect to xbox live for the purpose u mentioned as a security measure to prevent the console from being ban by microsoft.
it has been in my hand for 3 days. mod the xbox 360 myself 2 days ago. MFD 24.8.2010. A trinity motherboard, most stable and fast glitch time (<20-30 sec). 
tested and in a perfect working condition.
