Hi there,

I am hoping that there is someone out there (preferably in wellington near me) Who is looking to sell their 27" imac.

I am starting a business with the objective of helping people prepare for disasters. It will be a free service that helps people plan as groups and thereby make more resilient communities.

I have received a start up grant from the ministry of social development and developed a comprehensive business plan and am now developing the user experience and making a video to crowd fund the platforms development.

For this i need to replace my 2008 imac as shes not doing to hot no more. Shes been good but its time she treads the well worn path of hand me downs to my little sister.

So if there is anyone out there who has a 2011 or later imac they would like to sell me within my price range i'd love to hear from you. Oh and to sweeten the deal i;ll throw in a life time VIP account on my platform (once its made of coarse :) - don't judge start ups have a long history of banking on promises.

ps I live in wellington.

happy long weekend :)

Dan

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

You might be pushing your luck a bit there for a 2011 and that kind of budget

Hey there,

Perhaps, but my reasoning is that a new machine is 2800 which is about 2400 ex gst (which i claim back as a business) effectively a secondhand unit is also gst ex. My price point was based on about half this. Which  i think is the value of a two year old machine. In fact a business would  be depreciating it as an asset at about 1/3 a year. which is about 1/2-2/3 depending on when it was bought.

But then again i may be wrong - i suppose the value is whatever anyone will sell it for - and if no one will sell to me at this price then you are right and my budget is to small.

out of curiosity - if your have an 27" imac 2011 what would you want to get for it.

thanks for the reply

Fair enough - looking on TradeMe (not the cheapest) 2011 models seem to be around the $1,900 mark. We recently bought a lot of 2010 27" at work ex-lease for around $1,200 incl. GST per unit from memory.

I do have a 27" 2011 however I have upgraded it with an SSD, bigger hard drive and 32GB RAM, would be looking no less than $2,000 for mine.

Best of luck :)

Just saw this.  Be careful if you spot a cheap one.
