I'm trying to isolate some issues with my internet connection, ISP has said interference may be an issue.

ATM I have a fairly long cable connecting the modem to the internet/phone jack. I'd like to replace with a very short cable as my modem sits right next to the jack.

Does anyone have the skills to make me a short cable? I'm in Auckland.

The modem I'm using is a Fritzbox.

Many thanks.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Hatch: I'm trying to isolate some issues with my internet connection, ISP has said interference may be an issue.

Assume you have copper connection and splitter between router and phone outlet has been installed.

"Interference" is most likely is in the head of the person who told you that. Do not waste your money.
UTP from the phone plug on your wall to the the next interconnection point is much longer than 1.5 meter of your existing cable.
Reducing just a portion that to 0.2meters will not solve the issue. Reduce everything within the boundary to 1 meter and run the test.
Get your modem to the Pit on the boundary and connect there - that is how you would isolate whether the issue is beyond demarcation point or inside the boundary.
If outside - it is for them to fix. With copper - could be water during the recent rain season - common source of issues on the network.

Want to be bothered reading about interference - here is one of quickly searched articles:

Considering your on VDSL, with a fritz on snap.. Most likely you have a rj45 port already.

The "DSL" port in the fritz are rj45, so a simple cat5 cable would do you just fine.

Should be able to pickup one easily from anywhere really, Likely you could even convince a store to crimp one up quickly for you.

Have a bit of a play around, and make sure a device plugged into your fritz isnt causing issues, i had a switch which casused my fritz (which had a dodgy power cable) to have the issue far amplified every time it was plugged in.
