I'd be keen on a LGA775 m-ATX board (to get a setup into a smaller case).

Or possibly another m-atx board with cpu/ram/cooler. Would need to beat QX9650. Your "PC2" does 15-30%, but I'm sure you can sell that for more than I'd be willing to pay.

Most likely end up waiting a couple years for a main PC upgrade, then hand me downs to that PC.

Yeah guess m-atx especially then came at a premium, so not often used unless actually needed for smaller form factor.

I'd be giving up a Asus P5K Deluxe/WIFI-AP P35 LGA775 which was $485 wholesale at the time. 10 years old in 2 days - it has done well, but won't be buying such expensive boards again.

Hold out for the full $250, I know he's bluffing. I think he would actually pay $260 if pushed :)

I can make your life easier as I am after "empty" 2U - 3U size boxes only, content does not matter. Not interested in Motherboards (dead are oK). Working PSU is always a bonus however dead one is also good as I only use the rear panel of the PSU if it is from a slim case to cover the hole in the rear panel.

Old HP/Dell horizontal desktops are also good - those where the upper cover is easily removed or slide (not those where cover comes with 1/2 of the case).
