Having trouble selling my RMA replacement GTX 970 @ $300. Would like $280 minimum. Is the 970 worth less that this right now? Anyone interested?

Assume warranty is pretty much done for?

Your pricing sorta comparable to what's available now. RX 470 similar performance... But yeah about that for new with full warranty. Video cards do tend to die more than other components. Tend to want something with long warranty, I've had to RMA a few myself. You having RMA'd that one even more concerning, maybe the design / brand etc. Just sorta means might die after x months.

Plus new cards are also more power efficient and quieter - also perhaps less chance of dying / over heating.

So IMO yes it's worth less than that.

I'm in the market for something around 1060/1070 level performance, so been looking at new, used and imported. 500 series and Vega just around the corner which might bring prices down further.

The sooner it gets brought the more warranty is available on it. There's still at least 1.5 years warranty left on this... All that was wrong with the old card was one faulty fan, the performance otherwise was great. The 970 is quite power efficient. Considering the release of the 10 series cards and 1/2 warranty left it's probably about where the price should sit.

Are you located in Auckland? I'd be interested if you're willing to do $260 cash pickup? Thanks!

1.5 years not too bad I guess. Do the fans stop with low load (desktop)? Exact model?

Yes the fans stop at low load. It is the standard model, so after that is the super clocked and FTW versions.

It's very possible this is a brand new GTX 970, you just don't know with EVGA's RMA...
