I am looking for a cheap Android TV box with remote (or Harmony database) to do some experimenting with. Don't care too much about specs or model or gaming, I just want something that can stream Internet TV. Would prefer with Kodi installed (and no, I don't mean 'fully loaded'), around $50-$60.

Yeah, I know. I am going there but I always like to check here first. You never know what someone has lying unused on a shelf.

You could import a Fire TV stick? Sure it'll be a few dollars extra (not that many dollars though) but you're also able to sideload Kodi onto it and many other Android apps. The other option is either a Raspberry Pi or the Vero 4K.

I have a little Android stick (no remote) sitting on the shelf that you can have for the price of postage if you like.

I'm curious, what's the current cheap model Android TV boxes that others are getting from Alexpress/Banggood etc ?

Do you have a reasonably specced android phone? If so consider a chromecast. Your phone will essentially become your remote. Kodi runs just fine on my Samsung S6 which I can then cast to chromecast. Same with the Netflix & Hulu apps.

Admittedly this is not my primary streaming device (Nvidia Shield TV), but for the price the chromecast is hard to beat.

I bought an M8S box off AliX. The particular model/offer is sold out but there are plenty of M8S boxes still on offer.

If I wanted another, I would just order one of those again. The latest ones have 4K outputs and run Android 6.

Happy to pay the postage. PM me your address or account and I will send you $5.
