Hi,

Looking to buy a SmartThings Hub if anyone has that they no longer use. Prefer Gen2 and I am in Auckland.

They are about 50 USD right now but prefer to buy locally first before trying to order.

Thanks,

max

Don't import one, don't use one in NZ and don't use US Z-Wave kit.

Reason being is NZ Z-Wave is licensed at 921.4 MHz where the Smarterthings hub operates on 908.42 MHz. In NZ the only licensed block is 915-928 MHz for personal short-range radio use.

It is not licensed and you'll get in trouble for using one in NZ just like any other unlicensed radio product.

maxeon: There is an option to disable z wave

It still contains a transmitter that isn't certified in NZ. Don't do it. Read my sticky in the home automation topic.

Thank you for that. I just read your Sticky and understand now that it's actually a software turn off switch so yes it could still transmit. I will wait till a NZ version releases. Any ETA on when it is due?
