I have a customer that has approximately 15 computers they are wanting to sell.  They dont come with any software but were all operational when decommissioned.

Specs wise they are all Core 2 Duos with 250-500GB HDDs (almost certain they were all 500's) and as far as I know all have 4GB of ram. They are from a school so chances are the majorly will have broken front USB ports. They all have a 19"/20" LCD monitor - all AOC from memory and should have a keyboard and mouse.  There were a couple of AMD X4's in the mix as well - they tend to have a different case.

The core 2 duo computers are approximately 7-8 years old and have been running Windows 7.  The AMD's are newer at around 2-4 years old also running Windows 7.  Not likely any of these will run Windows 10 without chucking in video cards etc.

There were a few extra ones in there that have been cannibalized for parts so they may or may not have anything good in the extras.  They may also have already been chucked!  As well as spare monitors - originally there were 25 computers so in theory there are 25 monitors - dont quote me on that!

They would have to be picked up this Saturday from Manukau from their storage locker.

They are wanting $400 for the lot but the deal is you have to take the lot :)

I havent seen where they have been stored, and have no idea on the condition they have been stored.  All I really know is they were all working when I pulled them out of their classroom around a year ago so they have been sitting.

There may also be a server cabinet very similar to: Dynamix 12RU Server Cabinet  - I cannot remember the brand. It has a UPS in it which will most likely need its batteries changed sometime soon and it weighs a ton. Im sure they would be open to negotiations on this part of the package.   Not sure where abouts this is being stored at this stage. It could be in storage or at their premises in Otara.

Ideally dont want any tyre kickers who'll turn up and decide they only want one computer etc.

If your interested and can do it all this Saturday (or are able to organise a time with them to do it all) then please let me know and I'll give you their contact details to sort things out.

Well, I will take 2-3 computers if someones willing to do a group buy. I have a station wagon that will fit about 20 machines in it and I am based in Auckland, I can store up to 5 machines for someone up to 2 weeks.

PM me if your keen to make a deal.

None as of yet sorry.  If nothings sorted by this weekend I'll have a talk to my customer and see what they want to do then let you know.  They may be happy to sell them off piecemeal if they cant get rid of the lot.

I’m pretty keen for the whole lot for our own school, as we have some rather aging machines now that are even lower spec 🙄

Please confirm they are all ‘working’ at present, as software isn’t an issue with our MS site licence, but taking on a massive headache would be, as I volunteer my time to keep their system ticking over.

I can come and collect all the machines and any spares they have would be great fully accepted too.

Have you tried approaching an IT dept of a University or something similar? I know Otago Uni gives out old machines for charitable purposes.

Sounds like a great plan, thanks!
