Note to potential buyers so as not to make my mistake.....   M.2 is the connector and doesn't tell you about the electrical characteristics of the SSD.  There are M.2 SATA SSDs and M.2 NVMe SSDs.  Your motherboard specs will tell you whether your machine will use a SATA or an NVMe SSD in the M.2 socket.

I had a spare 128Gb M.2 SATA SSD after an upgrade.  I bought a cheap enclosure for it and now its a super-speedy USB drive.  It runs like greased lightning on a USB3 port.  You could do the same with the above SSDs of course or your old one if you use one of the above as an upgrade.  Again check the enclosure supports NMVe or SATA M.2 SSDs.
