I basically need an Socket 775 MB. I was fixing a friends PC and I broke a capacitor off unplugging the CPU power cable. I tried soldering it back but it wont even boot.

He has a Core2Quad so I need it to support 45nm CPU and have 2x DDR2 slots .. basically G3x or G4x and up .. I would prefer Asus or gigabyte if possible just due to they usually have better support on the quad cores.

Since I am doing him a "favour" I really don't have much budget .. so if there is something out there you don't need I will take it.

I am in Auckland and collect or happy to pay shipping.

The risks friends take when we work on their PC for free...

$25-$30.

The box of beers your friends owes you get them to buy a new motherboard instead...

Comes with CPU sell for $5-10 ...

CPU: Intel 3770k| RAM: F3-2400C10D-16GTX G.Skill Trident X |MB:  Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H-WB | GFX: GV-N660OC-2GD gv-n660oc-2gd GeForce GTX 660 | Monitor: Qnix 27" 2560x1440

Cheers .. but these don't support the CPU (or any quad cores) as they are based on Intel 945 chipset which was designed for the 1st wave of the 65nm Core2Duo

I have seen a couple on trade me for ~$40 that would work but have the CPU and sometimes they want $10 shipping.

I feel bad for causing the damage but at that price ($50+) I might as well get him a board with an I3-2100 with 8GB RAM as there are some on TM for $90

This, but it's at least NZ$100 shipped. You could probably get an early generation i5 PC motherboard/CPU/RAM second hand cheaper.

It supports Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU .. including the Q9500 .. so its perfect.

I will PM you if you can spare it that would be an awesome start.
