Can pay upto $1500 for the right system, though prefer sub $1k

Prefer a Xeon v3 or above, ideally a half depth 1u, however, will consider all options.

Not worried about ram/hdd/OS as most will be upgraded anyway.

Any one selling or have any coming up?

I may have a lead on something, I will get back to you soon. Where are you located? The person I get my gear off is central/lower North Island.

Hey mate - I've got quite a few v3 Xeon systems, but if you are after 1U then maybe HP DL360 Gen9 is the most ideal unit I have?
If you aren't after ram or CPUs, then it would around $1000, or $1500 with 2x 12-core processors and 64GB ram.

Thanks Guys, Napier based, E3 Xeon would be ideal as need frequency over cores

I've got a Supermicro E3-1220v3 w/32GB of ECC RAM but the v3s are DDR3 only. Is that of any use? Not rack-mounted, just the motherboard CPU and RAM.

Are you only after single socket as I don't think E3 Xeons come in dual socket? Anyway, if you are after frequency I've got E5-2643v3 systems which are 3.4-3.7ghz boost.

Generally dont need dual socket, what are the specs of your E5-2643v3 systems?

There's no real spec per se, I would just be swapping CPUs into whatever chassis fits the bill.
For example a DL360 Gen9 with no drives, 2x E5-2643v3, 64GB ram and embedded storage controller would be $1200.
Additional ram would be between $5.50-$6 per GB depending on what sticks are used.

Don't know if I'm allowed to post trademe links, I had set it at $1000 start with $2000 buy now, but happy to work within your budget since it's Christmas and feeling generous haha
