Unfortunately, I misunderstood the process for trading in my Kindle, and so I now need to locate, ideally cheap as chips or less even, an Amazon Kindle. Any generation doesn't need to be in working condition though ideally, it would be required to arrive to me in Auckland prior to lunchtime on Monday at the latest.

PM me if you have anything suitable.

I have a older semi non working one.. I dropped it, broke the screen, which I then replaced myself with a screen off Ali. The new screen works fine, except now all the kindle will do is tell me it needs to be repaired :-P

Information wants to be free. The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it.

That would be ideal.

Alternately, I'm sure that I have am older (pre-PaperWhite) one sitting in a drawer at home that I could send you (for the WLG-AKL courier fee) if required.

It's just gathering dust currently

networkn: I'm going to the US shortly

So am I. I thought it was US based customers only that could do this (like so many other things!) so good to know that I can do it too. SWMBO gave me a new Oasis for Christmas so won't be for a while though.

Well, I am currently in a scrap with them about how they are going to logistically manage it. We shall see.

Looks like you have a couple of offers above, but if they don’t work out, I have an older one that is otherwise probably destined for recycling. It seems to now permanently have a screen telling you to connect power.

That could mean your battery is toast.

I just replaced the battery on my KindleDX - cost about $35 from an online store here in NZ. Job took about 10 minutes.

FWIW, I've has success in recovering from this state by recharging the battery and then performing a hard-reset (hold power button for 45 seconds)
