hi all ,

Well I have the following questions for all the techs out there I have a Uniden GNS 8350 in car GPS device the maps are now round 2-3 years out of date ... so the unit is really ineffective ... it does however get its map data off a SD card so my question is .... Can I down load google maps NZ { or any country maps }  onto a SD card that my GPS unit will be able to use instead of my outdated maps my reason for asking is I cant get new maps for my unit its too old ... which is crazy why pay $250 plus for a unit that will out date in two years ... crazy ! any ideas would be great as I cant find much on google .

Cheers
V-S

I cant be bothered contacting them as Im not too impressed at the lack of information on this model I really dont feel I should have to pay for more maps when trying to upgrade , I have a HTC Desire which has G maps etc and does almost a better job than my uniden I just wondered if anyone had tried to put G maps onto there GPS there must be a way ?
