when you do the new plans, i dont need more data at the same cost ie: i pay $145 for phone and 105 GB data, i dont want a plan where i pay the same price and get say 150 GB data. would prefer to keep the 105 GB plan and pay $30 less.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

You could do that, if your on their new plans, just change your monthly data pack.
i.e. The Naked plan starts at 10GB for $60, then you just add on whatever extra data you want.

thats the problem with there plans, i need a phone and i use about 80-90 GB a month so the 50 GB is not enough so that only leaves the 100GB a month at $145 a month with phone, which is becoming really expensive against other isp's

My only concern with any possible change is that things don't get cheaper, they get more expensive for more data.

Would love the grandfathered plan I am on to be $20 a month cheaper for 35GB and if I need extra they will get that savings back in $5 unlimited sessions

Just change ISPs is you aren't getting the deal you are needing, and you are at the end of any contract. Its really easy to do. I think I am going to switch yearly now at the end of each contract period, moving to the ISP with the best deal at the time. There is heaps of competition in the market now, and that will only get better for the consumer.

yeah Im gonna wait and see what these new plans are and then jump if they arent to my liking. Have loved SNAP as an ISP, great service etc, but that only goes so far when I compare what I can get elsewhere for the same amount of money. Come on SNAP, give me a reason to stay, I really want to

Can you just use their unlimited nights plan maybe 4x / month?

I have found telecom to have great service so far. You can get through straight away on the phone, and they reply to emails too within a day. That is as good as any ISP I have been with , and far better than some I have been with.

RalphFromSnap: Hi Guys,

We are constantly reviewing our plans and looking at revised pricing and larger data allowances. However at this stage we cannot confirm, but please keep and eye out on our website, facebook, twitter, Geekzone and GP Forums for any updates.

Thanks,

Am I the only one that read into Ralph's marketing blurb "there is nothing in the pipeline, so don't hold your breath"  ?

I saw another post from Ralph that said we could expect an update in the next few days so should be a interesting wait.

It's almost like Snap and Xnet are just waiting for the other to release their plans before they do. After seeing what Telecom and Orcon have just advertised I suspect they won't be able to hold out for long.

If only we had this sort of competition in other industries

Something along the lines of "Offpeak every night for $20 per month" would be awesome for us, but yes, compared to other ISP's things are getting a tad expensive now.

I must say though - I have used about 180gb of Google/Youtube this month which means we are using far less data, of which other ISP's don't offer.

We will see! I'm sure as always Snap have something up their sleeves.
