i personally have a fritzfon paired with my fritz, works very well! be it slightly more expensive than a alternative.

the extra menus for controlling your fritz is pretty handy too.

Hey Guys

Apologies for digging up this thread from the past. Anyway, hoping somebody can help.
I have successfully registered my 7490 Fritz Box with a new Panasonic KX-TG2721 (got it free with flybuys and it apparently includes DECT-GAP). Configured as a DECT phone.  Its all working very well except for the caller ID.

When connected via the RJ11 ports as a standard analogue phone the Caller ID works.  Anybody found a solution to the caller ID problem yet?

Otherwise are there any other recommended Panasonic DECT phones out there that work properly?

Edit: PS I'm with 2talk.

I thought it was to do with the GAP/DECT standard, More expensive devices are capable of conforming to it where as the cheaper devices and most of unidens range tends to not play nicely due to use of cheaper proprietary designs.

The Fritz supports DECT and its core standards not what ever other proprietary junk is thrown in there also as there are way too many manufacturers and variants within those manufacturers.

I also have the same handset's and have the same issue but it doesn't surprise me considering I got them in a 3 pack for $50 from Harvey Norman.

did you play around with the settings in the 7340 , i know there are 3 settings for caller id. one for number showing only , one for nothing and one for name and number. If you are just getting the number maybe that is the default setting, i know i had to tick the name showing box to get caller id to work.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

As far as I am aware those settings are for outbound calls. Could be wrong. Will try it out.
