Page 17, they can basically get Cogent to block the users IP address.
With all due respect, do you understand what a DDOS is?

Yes, it's from multiple sources to one target. That's about blocking the target.

Which achieves exactly the purpose of the DDOS....
mercutio:Oriphix: What I find interesting is surely Orcon aren't the only ones being DDOS'ed? I mean how are the other ISP's dealing with this & or preventing this? Perhaps they need to invest in some gear for there infrastructure to avoid this. What's the point of getting more bandwidth if its going to run out on the next DDOS?
Mmm hopefully they are looking at a long term fix for all the down time we are having. And yeah about the compensation comment above I doubt that would happen haha.

Cogent is only one of our many Upstreams.

Anyway, reducing impact is better than nothing even if can't do it on every upstream.

Yup
We already use them, but thanks.

Minh: Okay so on unlimited plan fiber,
Slow P2P - understandable
Gaming Pings spiking - understandable
Streaming videos wait a few minutes to buffer - understandable
Browsing web pages slow as 128k - I don't think any one would accept this
Does anyone here have any legal advice as all these excuses of "not enough bandwidth" "DDOS attacks" from Orcon for the last few months is a bit pathetic.. a few weeks okay but I didn't pay $100 per month for 128k on a fiber plan.
If any one with legal advice on how to get out of this contract please post here or message me, much appreciations.
