REALLY slow all afternoon and right now as well. Normally on the game i play i have 160ish ping, it was 280 today, and so bad I was barely able to finish up my match and haven't been able to play all night. This was at 3pm-ish then i tried another just before which was worse then normal as well.

Yeah I had the same problem.

I couldn't do anything with this ping. Its red and 4 digits :(

I'm not on the unlimited plan and last night was shocking. Gave up trying to play anything.

Yeah but you shouldn't have to do that. What's the point of paying for a service and you can't use it for what you like.

Our heroic raid progression last night was periodically interrupted by me saying "Sorry, my internet has lagged me out of wow", though unsurprisingly, I didn't lag out of the NZ based ventrilo server.

Wow I've never had it that high, but mine jumps quite high for no reason all the time. I think Slingshot was WAY better for LoL. If only i could switch back...

Do you think this would be grounds for ending my contract early? Without hefty fees

I soo cant want to leave orcon.....have been a long time customer but the last few months have been utter..rubbish.

When I entered the contract i'd been really happy with their service, now its gone downhill rapidly.

You thought about using a NZ based VPN like Astrill (who co-incidentally run out of the Orcon datacentre but speeds are likely to be good).

I have sent a email to Scott B (Orcon's CEO) with similar to what you said above. Basically there service has gone really bad in terms of International speeds. And no one is fixing anything no matter how many times I call etc. So if they can't fix it I have asked him to waive my disconnection fees so I can go somewhere else.

The chances sadly of him doing anything from what the service is like at the moment I guess is "zero"

Where has the good old days of Orcon's service gone. I guess that's what happens when you get bigger...and forget about the little people that has been loyal for 6 years!

Woot POSITIVE NEWS GUYS!!!
From Orcon lvl 2 Engineer

"Following up on your complaint regarding international speed issues.

We’re rolling out some changes this week (next couple of days) which should resolve international transit issues.

I will keep you posted when these have been completed."

Fingers crossed :)

they've had issues since january or before, do you really think they're going to fix them in two days time.

before that there had been on/off issues.

I guess we will find out by the end of the week if what they said is true or not. :)

If this is true (in terms of getting it fixed this week) I'd expect to see it here so that everyone knows there are currently issues.

http://www.orcon.net.nz/support/network_status

Currently there is nothing on the page at all (as in, no recent status update messages)

Yes but Orcon has always been behind in regards to update the Network status page. They always put there was a issue after they fix it. So I wouldn't watch out for that.
