Mine was 13dB on the ADSL2+ modem and is 15dB on the VDSL2 modem. Both well above this supposed 10.8 limit.
The prequal shows far far lower though. Is this a measurement of a different sort?

I am under 19dB attenuation and I get 32 792 / 8 992 connection rate right now. See the (very long) thread about VDSL optimisations for details (in the first pages).

But before VDSL my ADSL router was giving 11db attenuation in adsl2+ mode.

I signed up with snap vdsl last week, apparently it goes live tomorrow, so I hope snap allow for a price reduction for existing on contract customers, that would make me pretty happy.

Also, my ADSL2+ attenuation is 11db, I was told I was 'on the edge', snap had to get Chorus to do a physical pre-qual check on my line before they would accept my sign up.

i could only get 18000 but that was after i got my dB down to 12 by taking out a 300 metre loop that wasn't needed, but im just one of the unlucky ones where the problem was with Chorus and they couldn't fix it without spending lots of money, so after a month i switched back to ADSL 2 but if the price drops nearer ADSL prices i will go back to it because i could get 7000 up which i will soon need .

I'm two sections outside the VDSL coverage area for my exchange (BKL). I did an automated pre-qual on my property which gave indicated speeds for WVS0 of 0.0 - 15.6Mbps Downstream and approximately 2.2Mbps Upstream. Then ran a manual pre-qual which eliminated VDSL2 from the results entirely, and understandably so (attenuation is around 21dB +-).
So the next question is, when is the VDSL coverage going to be improved in my area (there's a big gaping hole in coverage for VDSL around the actual exchange, and UFB is many 12s of moons(years) away)?
Cant find anything on the Chorus website which shows a faint glimmer of hope...

So, my Snap VDSL went live today for the first time.
Presently syncing at 37,895 down, and 10,360 up.

Pretty happy with that given I was originally told that I was 'on the edge of viability'.
My downstream attentuation is reporting as 12db.

By road I am 660m to the cabinet.

So, I'm a happy camper, and if the price drops, then I'll be even happier.

PS: On my pre-qual check they told me to expect download speed in the 22 - 24 mb/s range, clearly getting much better than that - which doesn't say much about the pre-qual.

But, you are already on a fixed price contract right?

Will snap pocket the extra margin and wait until your contract rolls over?  I think this is what they will do -- their margins wouldn't be great anyway so this could help them out a little  bit.

You might be surprised (I certainly hope you are) Snap in my experience are pretty good with showing all their customers the love :)

Like I said, I'm already a happy camper..... but if they choose to drop the price I'll be even happier....

I may switch to Snap if they drop their prices accordingly. Considering FullFlavourMedia are running Unlimited VDSL and said they will be dropping prices on July 1st by minimum of $20 is pretty awesome.

Any chance of a (semi?) official comment from someone at snap yet, or is it too early for anyone to say anything? Yeah I know these things take time, but would still be nice to hear something. :)

Some of the reduction will end up being absorbed by the new wiring charges, which will at least get around all the people installing VDSL2 and refusing to pay for a master filter which is absolutely essential.
