Well I can assure you that disabling that fixes the problem of the IPv6 and Fritz box issue on a 7340, a 7360 and a 7390 - I have them all right here and have done extensive testing on all.

unfortunately it's a lot easier to disable IPv6 on your router than in Windows... Microsoft have decided that everyone wants IPv6

indeed, I'll give anyone a race to do start, run, NCPA.CPL and do the above

vs

start, run, http://192.168.0.1 etc, authN to your router, find the IPv6 setup page, disable it etc

I'm just about to try and take my 7390 back a firmware or two, even though it tells me I can't. Time will tell.

interesting! what os are you running?

if you try 'ping -6 facebook.com' what is the output?

if you try 'ping -6 facebook.com' what is the output?

perfect for me. my IPv6 works perfect though.. so im kinda lucky i suppose? im running 84.05.22.

And for me with IPv6 enabled at router, disabled at computer with the single check box disabling I get "ping request could not find host. Please check the name and try again.

Running Windows 7.

odd.

I just realised I still had my DNS settings altered on my IPv4 in computer. In my testing I found significant DNS issues when resolving from the router, either on auto or manual, but the remaining errors were resolved once I forced the DNS from my network cards IPv4 setting. These errors were outside of the IPv6 issues.

The severs I used are SNAPs primary and secondary. I have not had a problem since. Maybe if you try that and see if that solves the issue?

I do use the snap DNS servers - but I don't really need IPv6 for anything, so not too fussed about fixing it.

Simply disabling IPv6 at the router was not sufficient. Because for some reason, despite disabling IPv6 protocol, the routers DNS service still resolves AAAA queries! ..... which means even though IPv6 can't work, DNS still gives IPv6 addresses.

And for some reason, DHCPD is still giving me an IPv6 link address Which seems to have a consequence for me that my browser (and everything else) keeps trying to fetch web addresses due to IPv6 still being enabled locally. -_-

Oddly, although using IPv6 has issues, IPv6 trace routes themselves are flawless, and failures are intermittent.

I had a mtr pingtrace running all morning to facebook , no problem. I filed a report with SNAP early this morning when IPv6 wouldn't even connect, and although the connection issue has vanished, there are still obviously some issues with V6.

Would just be nice if problems were acknowledged on snaps network status page *while* they were happening instead of everyone standing around not knowing if it was just them or not, only to discover "Yes, it was a problem" when snap mark it fixed :)
