Given that service appears to have been restored by re-routing customers to ChCh I would suspect a failure of the BRAS in Auckland.

Have been fine all evening in Palmerston North on VDSL, connection still up since 31/12/13 without a disconnect.

Hi All,

Sure - we had a failure of multiple devices around the Auckland area, we have re-routed a majority of connections to alternate areas while we diagnose and put a permanent fix in place. Sorry for the inconvenience and I'll update more here as we get more info.

As some others have noticed there will be higher latency while your connections are re-routed, this will be resolved once we fully fix the issue!

My PPP is dead again. Using 3g. Interestingly geekzone.co.nz doesn't resolve over Telecom 3g. Having to use Google's DNS.

yep, looks like we are back up here.. accidently dropped my PPP as i got home, took awhile to prop back up much to my frustration!

hope to hear more as things develop snap :) and to think i was looking forward to graphs tonight dammit! oh well, gotta get outta the house sometimes right? :c

Looks like I had a timeout session around 8pm yesterday and I wasn't home at the time then I had a timeout for about 10 mins around 6am today.

Had 10 more mins of timeouts again and this time IPv6 came back, traffic is still being rerouting still so Im guessing Snap are still working on the issues.
