Does slingshot now offer fibre to those of us who are renting? When they first started offering it they said they didn't. Wondering if this has changed 6 months down the line?

I wouldn't see why renting or owning your home would make any difference to any ISP.

Clearly however you're going the need the permission of the property owner, this is a stumbling block for some people.

This is what I thought, but when I rung up at the end of last year (the day it went live) the guy specifically said they weren't yet offering the service to people renting (even after I told him the landlords were happy to let it happen).

If they don't want your business then the best option is to move ISPs

There are a bunch of good reasons to tell a landlord though, mostly that it's free now, later on may cost thousands. The contractors will return the property to the state it was before the work began.   It will be a positive for future tenants as it means they can get great internet.

I don't think Slingshot requires you to be at the same residence for the term of the contract, they just require you to be a customer.

They supposedly weren't eager on installing it to my apartment as it's an MDU...but they're getting there...I think having to get extra permissions adds a lot of man hours to Slingshots connection team.

Hi - we will be more than happy to hook you up!
Just make sure your landlord is happy too (otherwise you could have bond issues).
Cheers.

Yay that's good news. Might have to give the landlords another call and get the OK again but at least I know now.
