Don't feel bad. It doesn't cover all of Te Atatu yet. I can (sometimes) get it in my house, but am yet to get 4G coverage in the town centre.

the firmware update for my telecom s4 arrived this morning

in my dining room I am getting 4 bars of 4G - 75.34 mbps down & 22.68mbps up on speedtest.
better than my vdsl connection

does this mean that performance for normal users is going to down even further in the case of power outages etc?

ie will be there qos on bandwidth giving 3g users as much share as 4g users.

3G performance will probably benefit within the 4G coverage area as some heavy users move to 4G. You wouldn't want to prioritise 4G over 3G as it is still only available to a smaller subset of subscribers.
