pwner: 3G boosted is UMTS900 as it has a greater coverage area, but seperate to 3G as you need device that is compatible with 900Mhz while all 3G handsets support 2100Mhz

Huh? Separate to 3G? U900 is 3G.
So no dual carrier on 2degrees?

Yes, we have DC. It's just not plotted on the map. :)

Is DC live on U900 on your Putaruru site?

My guess would be no. 2degrees only have 10MHz of paired spectrum at 900, so if they did DC at 900, they wouldn't have any 900 MHz spectrum for GSM.  I think all their DC would be 2100.

We can get a UMTS carrier and a GSM carrier into our 900MHz spectrum, but no, can't get 2xUMTS carriers and GSM. DC is only on 2100MHz.

I think there is some 2100 here, so will need to go for a bit of rural driving and see how it goes.

kiwibj: Recently added to the 2 Degrees web site re. HTC One M8 4G connection.

* The HTC One (M8) is 4G capable via a simple software upgrade once this has been approved. We expect this to be released in early August 2014¿.

Can someone point me to a 4G live site around Mt Roskill/ Mangere Bridge/AKld Airport or nearby I can check that my phone is seeing 4G

I have yet to see 4G on my phone (HTC One M7) I'm running GPE firmware so no carrier holdups, 4G was working no problem on Spark/Telecom prior so i assume it should still see 2D 4G if available

For info the following sites have been 4G activated -

Blockhouse Bay, Hillsborough, One Tree Hill, Onehunga, Penrose, Royal Oak, Ellerslie, St Johns, Orakei, Remuera, St Johns,Mission Bay, Mt Wellington, Panmure, Pakuranga, Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Otahuhu, Airport.

You'll see where you should be getting 4G on our coverage map from tomorrow. It will be edited tonight to show the new sites that have 4G.

I went to Auckland airport on Saturday.

My iphone 5 lit up with LTE on the display.
I ran a couple of speedtests the best I got was 17mb/s down and 12mb/s up.

very barely 4G.

Is that all she's got scotty?

BTW - I had 5 of 5 bars of signal strength.
