Hi Everyone, Enable switched on their fibre network in our area in January this year, but we haven't signed up because Slingshot doesn't yet offer UFB over Enable's network here in Christchurch. We would rather not change ISPs because we have been with Slingshot for 9 years and have been pleased with their service over this time, and they are cheaper than the other ISPs who currently offer UFB in Christchurch ($89 for 30/10 Unlimited compared to $99 on Orcon and Snap and $109 on Telecom), but will have to change if Slingshot doesn't offer it soon. I understand it takes a bit of preparation to offer UFB in each town/city and LFC but it seems ridiculous that a number of years into the roll out they still don't offer UFB in the second biggest city in NZ. Does anyone have an idea of the timeframe for UFB being offered by Slingshot in Christchurch?
Cheers, Ethan

Hi, I'm still keen to find out if anyone from Slingshot has a rough idea of the timeframe for when Slingshot's fibre plans will be made available over the Enable fibre network in Christchurch?
Cheers, Ethan

Add me to this list.

Would like to know when Slingshot will provide service via Enable networks.

I think my VDSL is slowly degrading with the higher uptake!

Oh they joys of having a minority LFC in Enable, be thankful you have the fibre switched on in your area, I was meant to and then they changed their plans so that every street around us is getting it except our street until who knows when, Enable seem to be the least forthcoming with rollout details. I would love it is Slingshot got on board with Enable, Im actually thinking about changing from Vodafone Cable to Slingshot VDSL in the meantime but this whole Chorus premium plans business has got me a bit scared.

Hi guys,
We are working on it, but it's at least a couple of months away sorry.
We'll of course let you all know when we are good to go.
If you can't wait til then - I am sure our friends over at Orcon would be happy to help.
Cheers

Yea Enable is really odd.

They are very secretive about their roll out plans and do not provide any year to year estimations etc.
The progress maps provided are very small and not useful.

I mean I doubt they are making it up as they go along, because that would just be silly.

It would be nice Enable if you would share your roll out plan with the public...  (if anyone from Enable reads this).

Have tried contacting their support / sales who give a generic "we do not have a specific date at this stage", so very fruitless to get any estimates from Enable.

i tried emailing them once, they didnt even respond.

i dont think they have a social media presence either.

might have to pester the mayor about pestering them to be more consumer focused.

Can anyone from Slingshot provide an ETA for when they will offer UFB in Christchurch? Just getting a bit impatient for fibre as it has been 11 months since Enable switched on the network in our area. Could have signed up to Snap, Orcon, Spark, Vodagone, etc who all offer fibre in Christchurch but haven't had any issues with Slingshot and they have the cheapest price so would prefer not to leave.

If you fire me a PM (and any other Chch Geekzoners in a fibre area can do the same), I'll check with the team is still looking for trialists and see what we can do :)

How soon is very very soon? Would be keen if you are still looking for trialists but if you are launching soon it wouldn't hurt to wait a few days/weeks before signing up.
