Just a side note D3 has been hit with a mass of DDoS attack in the last four weeks so that definitely won't be helping - and while I understand your frustration as a gamer, we are working on this

It doesn't explain  when I play as a group, 2 others with Vodafone and one with Telecom they don't have any issues. Even a 4G connection on telecom is so much better.
What is the cause of packet loss? Is there a reason we cant be informed?

No it doesn't and Flamebeard was clear his post wasn't offering such an explanation. The internet is full of many factor affecting the overall experience (for instance Spark are even now having a bad day due to a DNS attack), and many of them are highly dynamic and/or transient.

Markuchi: What is the cause of packet loss?

The only packet loss I've seen in the tracerts presented have been at hops specifically configured to de-prioritise ping traffic so that doesn't indicate any packet loss in real data transmission. This isn't as simple as a failing network device or connection causing packet loss.

Markuchi: Is there a reason we cant be informed?

We will continue to share appropriate information and updates as we have them available, you will see above I have a commitment to come back around Wednesday of next week on this after the change we put in last week has been fully analyzed for impact.

Not here, 150+ ms to Aus Dota servers and rubber banding all over the place in ArcheAge (during prime hours)

I'm at the point now where I don't even bother trying to play games between 6pm and Midnight and am consider seeing if I can get out of contract to change ISP.

terrible lag spike on peak while everything is OK off peak hour.
something is wrong with your connection to AUS  Orcon. things went smoothly with your adsl plan.
PLZ fix it ASAP

I'm having the same issues to D3 server and CSGO server both in AU. On ADSL.
Been with Orcon for about 8 years now on multiple accounts. I think if it isn't fixed next week its time to move on.

Played on the US D3 server last night, at around 9:45ish I had a MASSIVE lag spike, right in the middle of a rift, my character being hardcore (I die the character gets deleted). Lucky I was playing with a friend who protected me till I dropped off the server.

I like to consider myself a patient man, but these issues have been going on for around 4 months now. I have posted 3-4 times on Geekzone, I have rang the support desk twice (both times were a complete and utter waste of time, where they told me that the issue was not on their end..), used the Facebook page. The ONLY helpful response I get is from the guys on this forum, for which I would like to thank you guys, it honestly seems like you guys are the only ones at Orcon who care/do anything about these issues.

Sorry for the ramble, but frustrations are boiling over, online gaming is my entertainment, I dont watch TV, I game and for a long while now that has been near impossible. So pretty pretty please, with sugar on top, can we get this sorted so I can get back to my gaming?

FireEngine: Hi All, despite putting in the change this week that we hoped would resolve the rubber-banding, it hasn’t fully done so (although you should all have seen latency come down to Australia).

It has helped us further zero in on the precise cause, we will continue to work on it and I’ll update GZ approx the middle of next week with our timeframe.

Thanks for your patience and especially to those who helped with our testing.

As per Fire Engines post - we expect to have something for you all middle of this week.

OK I stand corrected. I did experience that 1 lag spike last night on the US server. Lasted 10s, then all 3 of us, continued without further issue.
As it seemed like a one off occurrence, I didnt run any testing myself.

Hi All,
Full update tomorrow as promised (probably early afternoon by the look of it), but I just wanted you to know we put in a small change last night after midnight and would appreciate any feedback on the experience of UFB customers only tonight (Tuesday 9th Sep) please, specifically between 7 and 10pm NZ time.

The change will affect (and improve!) some ADSL/VDSL customers experience as well but I am specifically looking for changes in the UFB gaming experience.

Today around about 5:30-6pm

I'm on ADSL connected @ 19mbps speed test shows 13mbps though.

I was having intermittent lag in Dota 2:

A mildy better one:

Seems fine now.
But its commonly dinner time around now, so it could go back to being terrible at 8pm.

If there's any tests someone wants me to run if it gets worse give me a yell.
