Peppery: I'd love some better pricing for business customers. Currently with VDSL spending around $270 a month for 575GB worth of data. About to jump to Orcon Business VDSL which is unlimited data for $119. Love the service, but less than half the price for more data isn't something we'll be passing up.

Tried talking to snap before you jump ship? they might be able to offer you something...

Yep - was told new plans are with the 'product guys' after they launch higher speed UFB. We're already headed to Orcon for our UFB (again, way cheaper than Snap).

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Not sure if this is old news but before I went away for business last week, I jumped on to Snap to check out my usage.
I saw some new plans advertised and thought oh cool, I'll come back and read the goss on GZ before I switch.
Come back and go to check it out, nothing there.

Now from memory (so don't quote me on this)

150GB VDSL plans from $85 with 'Unlimited Nights' option. (Was only really interested in this as I have VDSL)

Now there were unlimited plans I just can't remember what the plans started with, I'll ask a fellow GZ'er who took a look after I linked him to jump in and post as he has a far better memory than I.

Well, that was disappointing...

There is no longer an unlimited 30/10 plan. There is an offer for unlimited for $10, but only if you sign up for 24 months. It also lacks "FREE call features" in the description, although I'm considering Internet only features.

200/20 comes in at $139 per month for unlimited, 200/200 is $179. I assume you can save yourself $19-29 per month on each plan if you sign up for 24 months. So, for the 200/200 plan, locked in to a contract, Snap is $11 per month more than Bigpipe, or $40 per month more with no term.

Edit, sorry, had the upgrade price for unlimited incorrect. The deal isn't as bad as I thought assuming the $10 per month upgrade is possible, but being locked in to a 24 month contract is something I do not like.

There is no longer an unlimited 30/10 plan.

The $10 unlimited upgrade is not available on this plan, so that means there is no longer any unlimited 30/10 plan with Snap. Worth the wait? I think not. Lucky for me I want something a bit faster.

The promotion runs until November 16, and after the 24 month period pricing reverts back to the full unlimited cost of the service.

I also dislike the fact that Snap are promoting this as a $10 upgrade, when in fact it is a discount off the unlimited plan (as per their T&C). It's like those annoying "GST free days" or "cost plus GST" promotions.

I'm sorry we thought you liked speed?! The current promo is unlimited data for $10 (not $20) when you sign up for 24months. So that makes 100/20 $95, 200/20 $120 and 200/200 $150 - all of which include a Snap Plus phone service with all call features. We are also providing a WAY cooler device on the 24month term, the 7490 will be available on the website very soon (within the week type soon :-P). And note that the Bigpipe offer also doesn't include a phone service, so not comparing apples with apples, not to mention the loads of other benefits that the others don't have e.g. a call centre that is open 24/7, with helpful and friendly NZ based staff, who you almost never have to wait to get through to, no throttling or traffic shaping and enough capacity to handle it like a BOSS.

24 month contract, with no router, and 20GB less data in exchange for being able to pay them more money per month for a slightly faster service doesn't quite cross the threashold of being worthwhile.

not quite sure what you mean, i switched to the 100/20 unlimited plan and went for a new 24 months contract and saved $15 a month and with better speeds. Was on the 50/20 plan.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I'd happily pay $11 per month more for no throttling or traffic shaping, and to be able to actually get someone on the phone in the rare occasion I need them. Phone services and fancy routers count for nothing, since I wouldn't be needing either.

I don't consider the $30 premium for 200/200 to be worthwhile, and it's $21 per month more than Bigpipe for the 200/20 plan... happy to pay $11 more, not $21.

If your prices were $11 per month more than Bigpipe on the 200/20 plan, and not locked to a 24 month contract, I'd sign up next week.

Looks like DSL wasn't changed?

Pretty happy with the new fibre plans, our 50/20 is nearly a straight swap for the 100/20 plan. Though i'm looking forward to upgrading to a faster plan ;)

Also the 7490 is delicious - Wireless AC :D

I seriously dont get the push for faster speeds. I was on the super fast cable (something like 130/50) came over to UFB 30/10 and my ftp downloads as still just as speedy. 2 full time gamers, ftp downloads and at same time streams to tv all with zero issues. Very glad I have already locked in 30/10 unlimited tbh.
