I'm looking at ditching Vodafone and join up with slingshot, I'm stuck on plain old adsl for the next 16 months till fibre comes so I have a question about the wireless router that they charge $20 for when you sign up, what is it?, and will it cope well with a laptop, 2 tablets and 3 phones wirelessly?
Another question how will Netfix go on adsl will I get buffering? Btw VDSL is not available to me.

The modem isn't great, as you'd expect for $20. Better off just buying your own IMHO. YOuy can get a very good ADSL modem for less than $100 - (FYI, the modem is $20, but you also pay $15 for postage, so it's actually $35 all up)

as for whether Netflix will work, it really depends on a lot of factors outside your choice of ISP e.g. how far you are from the cabinet/exchange and the quality of your home wiring being the two biggest impacts

BTW slingshot also seem to be having some congestion issues over the last couple of months. Probably best to wait until they sort them out, (or choose a different ISP.)

It does *feel* like things slowed down after they turned Global mode on by default

Hi guys,
We were a bit lean on International IP Transit last month and the Truenet results reflect that - it's nothing to do with Global Mode.
We have added tons of capacity in the past two weeks and despite the variability reported we are still one of the top for speed results.
I fully expect we'll be further up the rankings this month.
OP - happy to give you a nice geekzoner welcome aboard credit too :) Flick me a PM with you acct number once you have signed up and we'll see you right!
