Thanks, I can get into the UI, just not sure where to look for the relevant info. :)

I thiiiink it's on the status page towards the top if my mind serves me correctly. Post a screenshot if the page if you can?

I have a Linksys Modem/Router perhaps I should switch to that.

The D-Link UI doesn't work on Windows 8.

Looks like you do indeed have a public ip, so not CGNat related. ild suggest editing out your ip though from that image.

as you have another modem handy, do put it into place to try it out. see if it happens again.

are you sure thats a public IP? i thought CGNAT used the 100.x.x.x. range or something along those lines

Now have the TP-Link W8960N up and running.

Still get the occasional disconnect from the problem site but at least with the W8960N I have a working log which should make it easier to track the fault.

So far all I've seen is "user.crit kernel eth2 link down" but so far I've been unable to track down exactly what that means.

As I said in previous post, I am still getting "logged out" of this one site.

Both my ISP, Flip, and the forum support guys, insist that nothing changed on their side during July and that their methods of operation are bog standard.
The forum support say that I am their only user who has such frequent IP address changes. Other users addresses do change but not so often.

I turned on logging on my TP-Link W8960N but the only entries there refer to ETH0 or ETH2.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can further diagnose this problem?

Firstly, Flip must be using a true dynamic than a fixed (sticky) IP. You have changed modem, good choice, so the problem is not modem related as you have isolated that. Thus, you are getting dropped connections. As posted above, Flip should be able to see dropped connections. Disconnect and reconnect all possible cables in your home, related to your broadband setup. Including phones and anything else on any jackpoint, even if you have a master splitter, in case that is misbehaving.

Flip uses CGNAT and does not offer the option to get a static ip addresses.

That's a pretty dumb policy and doesn't make sense in an ipv4 exhausted world or in a mobile world where your device may be switching between wifi and mobile data connections.

A work around would be to use a vpn that gives you a fixed ip address.

I think the problem is that Flip is changing the address too frequently. Every 3 or 4 minutes does seem excessive.

A work around would be to use a vpn that gives you a fixed ip address.

Have installed a VPN/Tunnelling App. That seems to have cured the problem.
