DrDee: Well it has been 9 days since I gave all the requested test information to Orcon, no follow up, no progress at all. Was on 100Mbps, was paying for 100Mbps was getting 100Mbps. Now on 200Mbps, paying for 200 Mbps and getting 100Mbps.

Hi there,

Can you PM me with your account details please - I'll chase this up with the team. My apologies for the trouble.

Cheers,

Cam

I sent a PM straight away, still have not had any contact and/or feedback. Day 12. Speed still half (or a bit over) of the upload/plan speed...

According to the tests it looks like I am consistently getting issues with 2nd hop (request timeout) no matter what the route. So issue looks like nothing on my side of the modem.

Orcon have this info as of 16th. Still no actual updates from Orcon as to what is happening, if anything, other than confirming receipt of the test data...

Had to resubmit test today as dropbox/onedrive/drive were in the tray.

Still have timeout on 2nd hop only.

Odd thing is in all the speed tests the initial download spike on the graph hits 200, then the graph shows it instantly drop back down and stay almost perfectly level at 100-130. On the upload it spikes up to 200 and stays there. I had a similar issue originally with my fibre that turned out to be something to do with tagging the data (whatever that means)?

No but it is a good place to keep a log of how support is handled for other potential customers etc.

Last talked to Orcon two days ago.

Testing to Auckland and it does get an expected drop in upload speed but download remains the same.

Just got off the phone from Orcon, have done tests again and reset modem again and done more tests.

They are going to investigate further and might get back to me in 1-3 days depending on what they find, they may replace the modem.

But I was told that because I am getting over half of the advertised speed (103!!) not to expect any better!

Well done Orcon.

Sent my new modem to an address I have never even lived at before...

Now I have to chase up the couriers to redirect to an address that actually relates to my account address.

Seriously...
