Kudos to Orcon in the end (especially the reps here).

Although when I did a follow up call today to see if a decision had been made nobody new what I was talking about and had to explain the situation again, to two different people, before being transferred to NZ, but they have accepted my request to cancel under the fibre guarantee.

I really look forward to never having to dial that 0800 number ever again!

hahahaha!

Just when I thought this was all behind me, I haven't even been an Orcon customer for a month. Apparently when I upgraded my plan from 100/50 to 200/200 on the 1 June there was a calculation of $40 that was owed on the 100/50 plan that was not carried over to the 200/200 plan or invoiced that they are now chasing, funnily enough I still had a credit amount on the 200/200 plan that there was no mention of how/if they were ever going to refund me and I just had to sit on hold for 20 minutes to see if they COULD offset the credit against the $40. I now have to wait to see if that credit CAN be transferred to the older invoice and wait for another invoice to be generated and sent to me that will request me to phone support to pay whatever the new amount is.

So after dicking me around for 45 days, spending countless hours testing my own equipment at Orcons request when it was obviously an Orcon fault and spending hours on support calls, they are chasing me for some trivia sum of about $30, a month after I am not even their customer anymore!

I cannot get away from Orcon support calls even when I am no longer a customer LOL!

Somebody has to say it - might as well be me I suppose....

You are definitely testing with a cable - not wifi?
