Unfortunately I have been dealing with Slingshot recently due to their broken IMAP SSL server which has meant one of my clients has stopped receiving email via IMAP on the majority of their devices (those with SSL enabled).

I have spent 3+ hours on the phone communicating the issues with Slingshot, along with emailing debug information showing their IMAP SSL server not giving out a certificate, meaning it does not work.

I have replicated this issue on multiple email clients at multiple locations.

A Slingshot rep has also replicated this issue at their end.

To top it all off my client was emailed stating the issue was resolved last week.

Today I have been informed (and later confirmed for myself) that the issue is not resolved and that the IMAP server is still not working with SSL.

Today I was also informed that as email is not supported Slingshot will not fix this issue.

If you no longer want to fix your own email server when it is broken then please DO NOT OFFER IT.

If you no longer support IMAP with SSL then please do not give these settings out on your website!

Using ISP provided email is generally not recommended. They're not all great at it.

Hopefully your customer isn't using an @slingshot type email address. If they have their own domain move them to a professional email host - Google Apps, Office 365, Fastmail, etc.

Best change your settings if you want to stay on Slingshot. Nothing confidential should go in emails, and in this case given there's no security you should probably have distinct email passwords if possible.

This is a clients personal email address, they also have business email accounts with SSL.

It was never a primary account for them however I have recommended they move away from using the account as not having SSL is not acceptable for any portable devices.

Hi @ArticSilver - can you please send me a PM with some details so I can follow this up?  It doesn't seem right to me.  Thanks.
