@2degreescare I see none of the Samsung S10 models on the approved list for Wi-Fi calling, Any plans to approve the S10 range?

siyuan:

Seems like some people have had success getting WiFi calling working in other counties, it seems like the only missing step for getting it to work on 2degrees is selecting the correct profile. For phones with a modern Snapdragon SoC, it can be done with QPST as explained here. I'm a bit reluctant to try it out myself as modifying the radio is even more risky than rooting/flashing ROMs, but I'm curious if anyone is brave enough to try it out?

I tried it with my oneplus 7 pro but alas it didn't appear to work, can force enable VoLTE and VoWifi but none of the profiles I tried appeared to work - based on what is said prior I'm guessing it's just missing some setting for the gateway that 2degrees aren't willing to explain (or more than likely they're actively blocking based on model).

Pretty rubbish that they won't just provide information and allow it for power users - the thought I could use VoWIFI was one of the last things keeping me on 2deg so maybe I'll switch.

Remember that having volte and vowifi enabled on a device opens you up to be required to support it.

I'd suspect this is why 2d haven't allowed other devices to jump on.

I was back in NZ in June, and wifi calling automatically switched on on my Changi-bought S9+. I checked my wife's Note 9, and it was on as well. Great as we lie in a remote area, with poor 2 degrees mobile cover. I don't know whether the fact we have 2 Degrees broadband was a factor.

Back in PNG, it only works with the Digicel 4G router in my office, but works well. It won't work with the Telikom 4G router at home.

Beats roaming by far! Now if I could only get it working on the Telikom router
